Are we timely around here or what? A mere one week before Halloween and the topic for this week's Wordless Wendesday is Disney costumes and attire, which has particular relevance in my case as I still don't have a costume picked out. It shouldn't really come as a surprise that I leave things to the last minute, as I really am terrible at making decisions. I see the massive array of possibilities in the Halloween stores and my brain just shuts down, so to help me limit my choices, I asked my family for some ideas as to what I should dress up as.
I really shouldn't ask them so many questions.
1 Vote for Dumbo - I sense that what happened here was that one of my kids saw an opportunity to call their Dad "Dumbo" and ran with it, but that's not my real objection to choosing this costume. I know very well that if I were to dress up like Dumbo, I'd have 3 kids (and very possibly one wife) trying to jump on my back and have me attempt to flap my ears and fly them around the room. No matter how good the costume, I'm pretty sure I don't need that kind of pain in my night.
1 Vote for Chip AND Dale - While I think I could make a very cute chipmunk, what concerns me a little is the fact that on the sheet they gave me the "and" is underlined, meaning that one of my kids thinks I'm big enough to dress up as two different characters. Might be time to stop eating all the Halloween candy so early in the month.
1 Vote for Captain Jack Sparrow - Did I mention I let my wife give suggestions too? This isn't really surprising based on her complete obsession with Captain Jack, and I might even consider it as my costume if she'd promise to limit asking me to dress up like Jack to Halloween only. When it's (much, much) more frequent than that, it kind of takes the shine off the idea.
3 Votes for Tinkerbell - Yeah, I've got some pretty sarcastic children. Truth be told though, I could totally rock that little green dress. I just don't have enough hair to do the bun on top.
1 Vote for Aladdin - This really didn't seem like a great idea to me. I mean, I don't have the right complexion, the right hair, and definitely not the right build to pull Aladdin off. Then, the true genius of this costume hit me. A chance to pull out my MC Hammer parachute pants from storage! We have our winner.
This post is a part of Wordless Wednesday over at Focused on the Magic. If you didn't get here from there, you should really head on over and check out some of the fantastic people that hang out there on Wednesdays. Some of them probably managed to figure out their costumes all on their own, but if they did ask their kids, I'll bet their kids didn't suggest opposite sex costumes for them.
