In all fairness, it's a brilliant idea. Sunday is National Stay Away from Seattle Day - A day designed to let the people who call Seattle home get out and enjoy their city, without having to navigate around those of us who are normally messing up traffic downtown (Although it would really help if you'd quit closing all the on ramps to the freeway!) Twenty four hours of not being stopped by people who want to know where they throw the fish, and a complete day of never being stuck behind the person who insists on asking, "What kind of coffee do you have?".
As an outsider, I'm never in Seattle on Stay Away from Seattle Day, but I do wonder what it's like.
Does the first Starbucks get any customers on that day?
Is parking actually available at Pike Place market?
Does the Freemont Troll enjoy a day of solitude, with nobody trying to climb on top of him for a picture?
I don't know what's going to happen in Seattle on Sunday, but I hope that the residents of the Emerald City enjoy having their town to themselves for a day. I'll be at home, watching the Seahawks game on TV, visiting my local Starbucks (It is Pumpkin Spice latte time you know), and getting ready for the next big holiday...International Talk Like a Pirate Day is on Wednesday. Arrr! Ye best be filling that latte to the brim Matey!
This post is a part of Photo Friday at Delicious Baby and Friday Daydreamin at R We There Yet Mom. If you didn't get here from one of those sites, you should really go check them out. There's people there who probably have a better pirate accent than me. Although really, that's not saying much.
