Our Olympic Aptitude

We're an Olympic family. I understand how you could be confused by that given our general lack of enthusiasm for moving, but we're constantly in training just in case our country needs us. It's one of the costs of living in such a sparsely populated country. If something goes wrong or a few (million) people get hurt, we could be called upon to represent our country at the Olympics. If you're a Canadian, you have to be ready.

So while we travel, we practice. It's not always easy to get time in, but never let it be said that we don't do our patriotic duty. We're ready for Ping Pong...

...and we've nearly got our high jump up to a qualifying level.

We're there for them if our swim team needs us...

...although granted, we may not exactly be a medal threat in the pool.

As Canadians, we're kind of gifted with a natural ability in outdoors events, like kayaking...

...but what we really long for is a call to the glory event. Wherever we go, we make sure that if we're needed, we'll be ready to represent our country in the most glamorous of the Olympic events...the 100 meters!

Hey...there's no points for style!

This post is a part of Photo Friday at Delicious Baby and Friday Daydreamin at R We There Yet Mom. If you didn't get here from one of those sites, you should really go check them out. There's people there who would actually get in the pool if they needed to swim a race. That probably explains why their countries finish ahead of us in the medal standings.
