July Calendar Shot

Today's challenge in Disney's Wordless Wednesday is to produce your calendar shot for July. There's a few important dates in July for us. Canada's Birthday, July 4th, our anniversary (somebody please remind me of that one), but above all these things, there's one thing that we can count on every July...

Rain. Everybody tells me that July is this beautiful, warm, sunny month, but I'm beginning to think that you guys are all just trying to put one over on me. Of course it's possible that it's just us. It's been cloudy and raining here in Kelowna for the last couple of weeks, but here's the next five days weather forecast for where we live...

Looks nice doesn't it? Too bad we're leaving today. Here's the forecast for the next five days in Miami, which is where we'll be...

So maybe it is just us. I'm going to have to try and turn this to our advantage. I'll be contacting some tourism boards in drought stricken areas to see if they'd like to host us for a few days to get their crops watered and their reservoirs refilled. If you live in an area that needs some rain, let us know and we'll put you on the list. Nothing guarantees a downpour like a visit from the More Kids Than Suitcases crew.

This post is a part of Wordless Wednesday over at Focused on the Magic. If you didn't get here from there, you should really head on over and check out some of the fantastic people that hang out there on Wednesdays. Most of them probably get to play outside during the summer months. No wonder nobody will tell me where they live.

There are many positive aspects to rain...it's just hard to find them when we've had so much of the "good stuff" - rain! Enjoy Florida.

I'm taking your word for it Irene, since you see more of it than we do. Hope you're getting the same sunny break that Kelowna is scheduled to receive.
Haha! Love it! Your sponsorship idea is brilliant!

Most of my ideas are brilliant! It's just that the rest of the world hasn't quite recognized their brilliance yet.
Oh, could we use your rain!!
Love the visual of your family traveling with a big rain cloud hovering overhead, lol!
Thanks so much for joining in on the blog hop fun! Have a great trip rain or shine!!

We're flying all the way across the country tonight, so there'll probably be a fast moving rain cloud tracking across the entire country. I'll ask the pilot if he can do a couple of circles over your town.
Deb's just given you a great idea for a logo! :) Have a great time in Miami!

Hmmm...not sure it's exactly the fun and cheerful image I'm trying to project, but I'll talk to the graphics department (aka my son) and see what can be done.
Come to Texas in August! You'll be welcome

What I read there was Jessica offering to put us up at her place in August. Thanks Jess!

Come to Georgia, we need some rain. Have a great time in Miami!

I'll be pretty close to Georgia. Maybe some of it will drift north. I'll do my best.
Then you definitely need to come to Israel! The only time I ever saw rain during summer was last August, and it was so shocking, I went outside during a shift to make sure it's real and it didn't get me in trouble!

An offer to stay in Texas and an offer to stay in Israel? Who needs to call tourism boards. Apparently lots of people are willing to put up a guy who brings rain. This could be my new calling!
Were you in San Diego when we had a massive downpour last year? Please remind me when you come my way so I can have my ponchos and umbrellas ready. I hope the weather let up for your vacation in Florida. Enjoy your trip!

I can honestly say that I don't think it's ever rained on me in San Diego, even though most of the time when we're there it's Christmas time. I'll still give you some warning next time I'm headed your way though. Maybe I can help with the forest fires or something.
