You know what you're supposed to do when you're on summer vacation? You're supposed to take family pictures. I'll admit that this plan usually gets foiled for us when two of the three kids refuse to leave their laptops to be photographed, but this time I decided that I was going to go ahead with it anyways and get a picture with my daughter who still remembers what "outside" looks like.
We headed down to the beach behind our hotel, and after a brief lesson for my wife on how to use the camera, my daughter and I took up a pose for our treasured keepsake of our time together.
I'm not sure why we made the assumption that the Men in Black pose would equate to treasured family keepsake, but apparently this is what we were going with.
Lori seemed to be taking an abnormally long amount of time to line up this picture, but she kept fiddling with the settings on the camera, and she was smiling like she was enjoying it, so we kept on posing.
Oh...that's what she was smiling about. That makes more sense. Now it might look like we're having fun here, but that wave actually hit pretty hard. Since I'm the responsible adult in this scenario, I immediately leaped into action...
Look at me leap! Just like an action hero! Are you coming Neve?
All action heroes look back when something ominous is chasing them. It's in the handbook. Trust me.
You know, family pictures are overrated. Lets go back and hang out at the water slides. First smoothie is on me.
This post is a part of Photo Friday at Delicious Baby and Friday Daydreamin at R We There Yet Mom. If you didn't get here from one of those sites, you should really go check them out. There's people there who get family photos taken all the time. I'll bet it's because their wife tells them when there's a giant killer wave sneaking up on them. I wonder what that's like.
